About Shimlavaasi: Embracing Cultural Heritage

I Gulshan Mehta, have always believed that the best way to experience a place is to see it through the eyes of someone who calls it home.

Growing up connected to the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, I came to appreciate the things that make this land special — the winding roads, the changing seasons, the warmth of its people, the quiet beauty of its villages, and the feeling of belonging that stays with you long after you leave.

But somewhere along the way, I realised that many travellers visit Himachal without truly experiencing it. They see the famous places, take photographs, and return home. Yet, there is so much more to these mountains than what a typical itinerary can offer.

That thought became the inspiration behind Shimlavaasi.

I wanted to build something that felt different — not just another name selling holiday packages, but a travel brand that carries a little piece of Himachal in everything it does. A place where travellers could find guidance, discover destinations, and plan their journeys with the comfort of knowing that someone who understands these mountains is helping them along the way.

Building Shimlavaasi is my way of bringing that idea to life. Every destination we share and every journey we help plan comes from a simple belief: travel should feel personal. It should give you the freedom to explore, the time to connect with a place, and the opportunity to create memories that mean something to you.

Of course, building something of your own is never a straight road. There is always more to learn, more to improve, and another challenge waiting around the corner. But the reason I started remains the same — my love for Himachal and my desire to help more people experience it in a meaningful way.

For me, Shimlavaasi is more than a travel brand. It is a connection between the mountains I call home and the people who dream of discovering them.

And that is what our tagline means to me: You Pahadi Homie.

Not just a name, but the feeling I want you to have when you travel with us — that you have a friend in the hills, someone to help you find your way and make your journey a little more special.

Because Himachal is not just somewhere you visit.

It is somewhere you feel.

Welcome to Shimlavaasi. Your Pahadi Homie.
